Academic Writing Month: The Results

I wrote 19,724 words for Academic Writing Month. It’s less than the 22,500 I aimed for, but still quite a bit and I’m proud of it.

The last few days of November, I didn’t write much. I traveled to visit a friend for Thanksgiving, and then just found that I had no more words to write before doing more research.

I did write my introduction and the first chapter, so that in itself is an accomplishment. I wrote more in a month than I have since I finished coursework and I had to write two term papers in a semester.

Most importantly of all, I like my work.

I’ve decided to keep Academic Writing Month going. Some of my friends are goal setting with me again for December. I’m hoping to have most of the dissertation drafted by the time school starts again. So, two chapters this month. And then, revisions.

Maybe I’ll graduate this spring. Just maybe.
